I met Gene for the first time at the 008th District reunion. We must have talked for a couple hours about the way the job use to be. I enjoyed the great conversation and it was an honor meeting him, though for such a brief amount of time. May he rest in peace smiling down upon us. My deepest sympathy to all his loved ones.

I first met Gene when I was about seven or eight years old. He hung around with my older sister Mary Ann on 25th and Princton. He was always very nice to me. We moved from the nieghborhood and lost tract of each other. Years later when I was a Detective we ran into each other at Doc's on 39th Street. We talked and had a few laughs. The next time we met I was a Sergeant in the 008th District. He said something I will never forget, "Chuck I am glad you made Sergeant. I'm glad someone from the neighborhood made it". AS a sergeant you would want a sector full of Gene Storinos. He was a pro. The last time we saw each other was at the 008th District reunion. We had a drink together. We talk about the nieghborhood, the job, and our retirements. Gene you were a Police Officers Policeman, you were a Pro. May you rest in peace and May God Bless you.

We grew up together on 25th Place and Princeton, in and out of "Storinos" and "TNT" corner almost everyday, as time passed we and we were getting older, we all seemed to go our seperate ways. You were my special friend back then, and that never changed, all the years together on the Chicago Police Department and only bumping into one another a handfull of times. Your family was like my family, I'll never forget the good times, and I think we had a special lasting frienship that will never be broken or forgotten, even if we never seen each other as much as we may have liked to. I will be missing you my good friend and carry you in my heart always. To your family I am deeply sorry for their loss, you are irreplaceable, I wlll pray for you and your family.

Always your friend, BART
