DeRango, Eugene "Gene" beloved husband of Philomena (nee Barba), devoted father of Frank (Pat), MaryAnn (Tom) Milici and Eugene (Rosa) DeRango, fond grandfather of Gina, Nicky, Dina, Vanessa, Frank, Geno and Vito, loving great-grandfather of Anthony Joseph. Funeral Monday, 8:30 a.m. from Salerno's Galewood Chapels, 1857 N. Harlem, to Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, Mass 10 a.m. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Visitation Sunday, 1 to 9 p.m. Please omit flowers. For info., call 773-889-1700.

Sitting out in front during the summer, the block parties, remember the happiness that he brought into everyones life with his smile and his wit. My prayers and sympathy are with you at the death of your beloved Gene. I know him only through his three grandchildren, Nick, Vanessa, and Franky. In knowing them, I am sure Gene was a truly remarkable and loving human being. Also, at this time of war, I am grateful for his service to our country. May he rest in peace.
