Eugene Biondi Obituary
Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late Michael and Dina Pallazzari Biondi. A graduate of Blakely High School, he proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Before his retirement, he was involved in the insurance business. He owned and operated the Biondi Insurance Agency, and was affiliated with Eire Insurance.
Gino was an avid New York Yankees fan and was a golf enthusiast. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the YMCA, where he also played handball and racquetball, and was also a member of the Glenmaura National Golf Club.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Franklin, Florida; stepson, Frank Pometti; stepdaughter, Frances Johnson; grandchildren, John Johnson and Nick Johnson, Jessica and Erica Franklin, and Domenic Pometti; sisters, Anita Fumanti, Gloria Spryn and Karen Mattey; brothers, Michael and Mark Biondi; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday from the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Lucy's Church, 949 Scranton St., Scranton. Interment with military honors will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Scranton YMCA, 706 N. Blakely St., Dunmore, PA 18512. Visit the funeral home website to leave an online condolence.

So sorry for your loss... Gino was one of the finest men I knew. Every day at the Y he would greet me with EUGENE and I would reply GINO. As much as he loved golf, he loved baseball more. But how he loved those grandkids. His Y pals will miss him. And for his sake I hope god is a Democrat.
