Erwin Werth Obituary

During my first honor flight in 2016 I had the great privilege of greeting all the war vets. Irwin was one who caught my eye and I had to get a photo with him. He was the life of the party having so much energy that I can only hope that I be like him when I am older.

I never forgot him and just discovered today that he is now gone from this world. My condolences to the family and it was a great honor to have at least met him one time.

To the family of Erwin and all his loving friends,

The World became an awesome place when Erwin was born as he made the World a better place EVERYDAY by his presence.

It has been 41 years since I have known him and has been my awesome friend. Erwin and I, every time we got together it became an adventure whereby we shared fantastic and funny memories .
I met him in 1978 as taught me how to build a shoe wall in the back of my retail store. Later as we spend lots of time together, as we embarked to many shoe shows in Chicago area, New York fashion shoe show as well as in Las Vegas across 15 years.

We even did a joint venture Pedigree Slippers by selling animal sculptured slippers in shopping centers. Many know the crazy stories that, that time brought us ...

Erwin was the very best of a salesman because he CARED! By his ease of communication and complete devotion to everyone that he met by remembering every detailed conversation. He was loved by everyone who met him at Chernin's and later Nordstrom's where I assume was one of the oldest people working in their store.

The fact of age never was an issue. Erwin entered the conversation by caring and always showing the brighter side of life. We all were blessed to be in his presence, as he made us feel special as he asked deep caring questions about others. So he truly never cared about the sales part of the interaction because he always wanted to make a friend for life.

Just to note everything stopped when it came to his family and he never wanted to miss any event that his grand children were involved.

He took great pride on his trip to Washington in the Honor Journey and was very proud to be an American.

Erwin has been my friend for a very long time. As I think of Erwin, he is my idol when I think of "zest of life" and it is because of him that I push myself to enjoy life to the fullest every day while giving unconditionally to others as much as I can. I know I can do better,because Erwin showed me the way and I will better because I have known Erwin.

I will miss him dearly. I will miss our crazy adventures and he will be with me in my heart as I adventure forward.
