Methling, Ervin F. age 81, At rest January 20, 2008. Proud WWII Veteran. Beloved husband of the late Sylvia, loving father of Kathryn L. (Theodore) Korth, Randall J. (Catherine) Methling and Richard E. (Kristine) Methling, proud grandfather of Cindy (Christopher) Jones, Brian (Aubrey) Korth, William, Julia, Brittany, Max and Rachel; great-grandfather to Ryan and Meghan, brother of Mildred (the late Clifford) Arkus, Raymond (Marie) Methling, the late Vera (Herbert) Massonie, the late Alice (Michael) Goscinski and the late Fred Methling Jr. Visitation Wednesday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park. Lying in state Thursday, 10 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 9920 W. Grand Ave., Franklin Park. Interment at Concordia Cemetery. Kathy,
You have my deepest sympathy. I remember most when Richard & I were on Liberty from Great Lakes. We came to see your grandparents. Your dad and mom were living with them. We took the L and we called your grandparents from a restaurant. Got back on the L and he remembered he left his wallet back there. Don't know how we ever found our way back, but did and someone turned it in. Quite an experience since it was the 1st time we both had been out of Michigan. Your Dad had to retie Richard's neckerchief as we weren't to good with Square Knots.
