Ernie was a Syracuse area sports legend who was larger than life. He was my friend. I will miss him immensely. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I was at the bottom of a pile after a tackle in the CBA/North football game in 1960. Earnie was there also. He saw a leg that belonged to a CBA guy. He did the only thing he could do. He bit it. I still have the teeth marks. Earnie will be missed by everyone who knew him. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Ernie. Ernie and I go back to summer league baseball with coach Joseph Conti. I have had an opportunty to see Ernie a few times over the past few years. He will be missed
