Emma Lightner Obituary
Emma Jane Lightner, 92 of Charlotte, passed away on May 25, 2017 in Edison Township, NJ. She graduated from Second Ward High School and a 1953 graduate of Johnson C. Smith University. She was a retired teacher with CMS. Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3400 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon. Burial will follow at Beatties Ford Memorial Garden.

This beautiful and loving lady was my 6th grade teacher at Wilmore Elementary (1966-1967 school year.)I went by Wilmore three years ago and took a picture of the second floor windows of her class room. She was a wonderful teacher. I often reminisce the days I was a student in her class. R.I.P. sweet lady. Peggy (Deese) McAllister.
