Emma Joy Boggs HolladayMay 30, 1917 — Dec. 16, 2008NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — Former longtime Duncan, Okla., resident, Emma Joy Boggs Holladay, 91, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, in North Richland Hills, Texas.Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Duncan City Cemetery with the Rev. Arden Smith officiating. Interment is under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.Friends and relatives may pay their last respects from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.She was born May 30, 1917, in Duncan, the daughter of Samuel Benton and Myrtle Rebecca Walton Boggs. Emma Joy attended Empire High School. She married A.B. “Swede” Holladay on May 10, 1940. They were both charter members of Wesley United Methodist Church and she served on the church board for numerous years.Mrs. Holladay, a homemaker, was preceded in death by her husband.Survivors include a sister, Sammie Lee “Bo” Desilet of Denton, Texas; a son, Robert Holladay and his wife, Sherry, of Roland, Okla.; a daughter, Beverly O’Brien of Trophy Club, Texas; three grandchildren: Jennifer Holladay Dishman and her husband, Craig, Stephanie Holladay and Alexander Holladay; and two great-grandchildren: Emma Joy and Lila Dishman.She was also preceded in death by her parents. Honorary bearers are Alex Holladay, Craig Dishman, Doug Boggs and Ron Petty.Online condolences may be made at www.granthamfuneralhomes.com.
