Tomich, Emil T. Age 90, lifelong resident of Hegewisch in Chicago, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013. Beloved husband of the late Virginia (nee Lobosky) Tomich; Loving father of the late Richard A. Tomich, Ruth (Joe) Babusch, Robert Tomich, David Tomich, Barbara (Arthur) Noel, Donna Tomich, and Michael (Lynn) Tomich; Proud grandfather/Poppa of Aaron (Amy) Ratskoff, Ben (Melissa) Ratskoff, Bessie (Kyle) Crum, Amy Tomich, Katie Tomich, Robert "Bobby" Tomich, Michelle (Josh) Maroney, Barbie Wreglesworth, John Wreglesworth, Selena (Jason) Hizo-Schneeberger, Erica Hizo, Paul Hizo, and Jennifer Tomich; Proud great-grandfather of Russell and Eliza Ratskoff, Adam and Evan Maroney, and Andrew Hizo; Beloved son of the late Anton and the late Mary (nee Kovacich) Tomich; Beloved brother of the late Mary Ann (the late Stanley) Spanich, the late Jubo "Shoppa" Tomich, the late John "Peps" (the late Mary) Tomich, Anthony (Loretta) Tomich, the late Eleanore (the late Walter) Lesniak, Carl "Tonto" (Valeria) Tomich, Gloria (Charles) Wennerberg, Donald (Margaret) Tomich; Esteemed uncle of many nieces and nephews. Emil was an extremely generous family man. He was the quintessential engineer and a patient fisherman. He served in the US Army during WWII in the Pacific. He retired as Chief Operator from Standard Oil Refinery, Whiting, IN, where he worked for 43 years. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Columba Catholic Church. Visitation is 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Opyt Funeral Home 13350 S. Baltimore Ave. Chicago, IL 60633, 773-646-1133. Funeral Services on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Opyt Funeral Home, 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Columba Church, Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
