Elsie Lawhon Obituary

ELSIE JUNE LAWHON, born June 10, 1927 in Hazard, KY., to the late Willis Gilmore and Anna Marie (Spicer) Gilmore, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007. She had two other siblings, a sister, Lorene Combs; and a brother, J. D. Lewis, both deceased. She attended Liberty High School in Hazard, KY. She left Hazard, KY., and moved to Cleveland, OH., where she worked at Halle Brothers. She married Clyde Lawhon Jr. on June 13, 1945. She was devoted to her husband of 53 years until his death in July 1998. In 1999, she moved to Columbus, OH. She attended St. Elizabeth Church. She leaves to cherish the memory of her, two daughters, Andrea Blount and Sherri Gillikin; three grand-children, Edward Blount Jr., Stephen Blount and Christian Gillikin; one great-granddaughter, Arienna Blount; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to carry on. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007 at St. Cecilia's Church, 3476 E. 152 St., Cleveland, OH 44120, where the family will receive friends ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE TIME OF SERVICE. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 10000 Miles Ave., Cleveland. Contributions may be made in Elsie's memory to St. Cecilia's Church in Cleveland or to St. Elizabeth Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus, OH 43229.
