Today, I thought of Elaine as I have done in the past when reminiscing our childhood. Finally tried to reach out to Elaine and was saddened to learn of her passing. There are people who we always remember because of how they touched our lives even many years ago. My deepest condolences to her family.

Today I thought of Elaine and was surprised to locate her obituary. I enjoyed getting to know her in an academic setting and loved her carpe diem attitude. As you grieve God Bless the Scorza family and all of those whose life she touched.

Thank you Elaine, for being a great clinical instructor. I was honored to have worked with you and learned from you as a student. Thank you, for being enthusiastic about being a nurse and working with the mentally ill. Thank you, taking me under your wing in the short amount time we shared and confirming that Psychiatric Nursing is a skill and patience and compassion are skills you must demonstrate. I hope that you rest in peace, knowing that you was an exceptional nurse and an even better person!
