Born in Chicago on September 15, 1925, loving and devoted wife of 57 years to Larry Klairmont, mother of 5 adoring children: Alison, Lisa (Harold Kleiderman) Alfred (Yelena), Dorie Ann (Michael Gleber) and Robert (Julieann) Klairmont. Treasured grandmother of twelve: Kathleen, Benjamin, the late Jacob, Matthew, Rebecca, Laura, William, Nathan, Julia, Margaux, Max, and Hunter. Beloved sister of Dee Graff and cherished sister-in-law of the late Lawrence Graff. Elaine was valedictorian of the first graduating class of South Shore High School and attended the University of Chicago. She passes on a rich legacy of love, friendship, and social activism. Elaine was blessed with elegance, beauty, brilliance, a sharp wit, and an encyclopedic mind. Her advice, recommendations, and support of family and friends will be greatly missed.
