Eileen Manning Obituary
Eileen Manning (nee Wolkober), 79, passed away on July 18th, 2022 in Park Ridge, IL. Eileen was a light in this sometimes dark world and she will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. She touched the lives of so many people across multiple generations and disciplines. During her time with us, she was selfless in every way. She gave herself in service her entire life: as a daughter, a sister, a mother, an aunt, a friend, a colleague, and in her career as a nurse. Anyone who knows Eileen, knows that family meant everything to her and she meant everything to them.
Her love of life was evident in the way she led it. A fan of Maine South football and band, the Iowa Hawkeyes and all Chicago sports teams you would find her cheering them on most weekends. She was an avid quilter, gardener, and baker â€" her cookies and cupcakes were enjoyed by many a recipient. An active member in Park Ridge on the Farmer's Market Committee and Health Commission, she was always willing to lend a helping hand and contribute to the community.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Manning, and her daughter, Erin Manning (Michael Barber); brother Timothy Wolkober; sister Martina Wolkober; many loving nieces and nephews; grand nephews and grand nieces; and countless close friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29th from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Cooney Funeral Home located at 625 Busse Hwy. in Park Ridge proceeding to St. Paul of the Cross Church for Mass at 12:30 p.m. Interment private. For information please call 847-685-1002 or visit www.cooneyfuneralhome.com
