Efrosini Anastasiou Obituary

Anastasiou, Efrosini (nee Markou), born in Korfoula, Kastoria, Greece, beloved wife of the late Nathaniel. Efrosini died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 28, 2011 after a long and blessed life of 89 years. Loving mother of Lina (Gregory) Stergiou, Chrysanthi (John) Makridis, Athina (Nick) Magas, and Tula (George) Vlahos, cherished grandmother of Tammy, Niko, Ellen, Costa, Effie, Alexie, Nathaniel, Anastasia, and the late Rebecca, and great-grandmother of 11, eldest sister of Achilles, Alexandra, Eva, Milton, and the late Malamati. Visitation Sunday, 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Salerno's Galewood Chapels, 1857 N. Harlem Ave., Chicago. Funeral Monday, 9:00 a.m. from funeral home to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 6041 W. Diversey, for 10:00 a.m. funeral service. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Efrosini requested donations be made in care of family to be distributed to several orphanages.
