Not sure why I decided to google my old PE teacher. Mr Winkler changed my life during the summer getting me to move from the catholic school over to Hometown Elementry to get in PE. He was a great guy.

Ed was a great inspiration to me while he was our Gym teacher at Hometown Elementary School. He really encouraged me athletically in virtually every sport. I still have all my track ribbons he awarded us 50 years ago. He always had time for the kids and even set up summer activities for us. Ed was a rare breed of teacher and will be missed by all who were lucky to know him. God bless you, Ed.

On behalf of the 1968 Hometown Elementary School graduating class, a toast to Ed, may he rest in peace. He touched the young lives of so many as PE teacher, and through the summer activities program he led for so many years.

Ed helped me to appreciate the "pain" in gym class and on the athletic field. My arms are weary remembering phys. ed testing..."go you chicken fat, go!" Thank you, for all of your encouragement Ed. Rest in peace. Jimmy Bo - Hometown Elem. 67'

Dear Ed,
Thank you for being a vital part of my life for the past 27 years. Your contributions to your immediate family, your TILDEN TECH family, your "SCHOOL' family and a wide group of friends and your community will live forever, as will loving memories of you for those of us who were privileged to have had you in our lives for only a moment in terms of eternity.
