Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Schydel) and Jeanne Maurer; cherished father of Timothy and Andrew; loving grandfather of Timothy John Pendrys; dearest brother of the late Adele, late Ann, and Elaine; adored by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends; an extraordinary man. Edwin served as a Cook County Sheriff, Illinois State Trooper, Founder of 1st Suburban Bank of Olympia Fields, owner of the very first Chicago area Burger King, and Co-founder of Burger King Commissary, founder of House of Sandwich, and Speedy Burger. President and CEO of Penny Ink, Pen Rocx, Polonaise. Author of "Memoirs of a Fast Food Man". Charter member of Olympia Fields Country Club, member of Corporate Board of Directors for Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, IL, and Past-President of the Glenwood Lions Club. Edwin will now meet his beloved dog, Freddie, at the Rainbow Bridge to cross there to Heaven's doors. Visitation at Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 7000 S.
