Nearly a year later my friend and I think about you all of the time...you are so missed here but knowing you are with Anna is comforting.

Gonna miss you little brother..you are loved..

It was great to see Ed at our class reunion in August. I didn't know he was that ill. He looked wonderful! I spoke to Ed more at this event than ever in the past and am grateful for that. I just recall Ed in high school doing his political comedy. The kids didn't get it, but the teachers did. He was so up to date on what was going on in the world with Richard Nixon, etc. I know now that he was so ahead of his time and so much more informed than anyone else his age. Rest in peace Ed. You are with your lovely wife and at peace.

Oh, Ed. You are part of so many colorful, laughter saturated moments. Memories of comfortable companionship and unquestioned friendship. I am privileged to be part of your Erie posse in place for over 40 years. You, Ed, are a kindred spirit and one of the treasures of my life. You will live in my mind and my heart forever. I love you, Ed, and miss you so. God bless and keep you and Anna forever.

You have been my close friend and a big part of my life for 48 years. From Harbor Homes, to being safety patrols on the same corner, going to the Methodist Church with the Burkes, front yard carnivals, being Mr. Gerber's teacher's pets in 6th grade, Wilson Jr High, campaigning for Rick Dunn as class President, Tech High School, 418 Plum & 6th street parties, class reunions, taking the "Ed Burke Tour" every time you came to Erie,with pictures of you in front of every place we visited, coming to my wedding two months after your transplant, doing the Liver Walk in Chicago....I can go on and on.
I was one of the privileged people to know you and was there to see you take the finale "Ed Burke Tour" past your house on the way to your final resting place. I'm was waiting for you to jump out and ask me to take a picture of you in front of it.
RIP good Friend you will always be in my heart.

To all in the Burke Family, this man was truly a person of high ideals and accomplishment. I found out late of this tragic news and wanted to let the family know that was a good man and was a sweetheart of a guy. My family and I wanted to send our condolences.

Ed, I was so blessed to be able to spend my carefree youth and teenage years with you. The years at 418 Plum with you and good friends have become truly magical memories for me. I am also blessed to be able to come to Chicago to celebrate your life and reunion with Anna. I will forever miss you my dear friend.

My condolences to the family. Ed was a friend of our family in Erie, and a dear friend of my brother Ed Bolton. After our parents passed away, Ed made it a point to contact me and my brothers to convey is sympathy. Even after all the years of us living in Erie, he never forgot us.
