Edwin Acosta Obituary

I met Ed a few years ago at a job and he was a person that was real easy to get along with. Working with him I knew time would go by because he made the best of each moment by making us laugh or sharing the love that he held for his son, when he wouldn't make it to work his absence was surely missed. I didn't know him that well but it was my pleasure knowing him while we worked together.

"I am still numb with grief, and this tragedy seems so surreal"! I knew you Edwin since I was six years old and you were always my "partner in crime in school" keeping the teachers at Robert Morris always on their toes. But then we grew up and went down the path of life with adventures, careers, children, etc. Then out of blue, a month ago I received a call - it's my long-time friend, Edwin....Wow, how long has it been?!! 15 years you say?!! We must take some time out to see each other and catch up. A month later.... I get the call. My heart has been ripped out!! I can't breath!! I wish I would of got the chance to say how much I missed you, cared about you and loved you as my brother!! I will continue to pray for the rest of your beautiful, loving and wonderful family!! I am so very sorry me and my children, couldn't make your "Memorial Service". We send our deepest condolences and prayers. May God bless and comfort the entire Acosta family not only through this time of despair and grief...but everyday!

My Greatest sympathy to all the Acosta's family for your loss , Edwin was a great childhood friend and I will always remember him as a good friend a part of him lives in all of us, I can see him now with that great smile and his positive energy looking down on us , God Bless .

Ed is one of a kind. A sweet, smiling, laughable person who I was just getting to know. Always, always caring, sharing and being there for anyone who needed him. We don't miss what we have until its gone!

Edwin was a great guy and there for anyone that needed him! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends. God needed another great angel up there and now he has him. Continue to celelbrate all the great times, that is what Edwin would have wanted!

I had the honor of meeting Edwin when I worked at the Cleveland Clinic. His smile could light up a room., and when he laughed, you had to join in. He was always always a person that you could rely on. If he told you he would help you, he came through. My daughter spent a semester in a remote village in Mexico in her Undergraduate year in college. She called me in distress, and the call was disconnected. I called Ed in a panic, not only did he offer to translate, but he also made arrangements for the host family to call me on a weekly basis at a designated time so that I would know that my daughter was okay.
My on,y consolation to this loss, is to know that Heaven has gained a another angel!

First off I want to thank you for taking my sisters and I and raising us as your own. You just don't understand how hurt I am. You always been there for me and I'm truly going to miss you. II'm still in disbelief. Everyday I wait for your call telling me something crazy...you just don't know how much I'm missing. I cry everyday because i lost someone so special to me. Your the only father figure my sisters and I had. You took us and raised us as your own. Now its my turn to make sure my brother has the best like you wanted for him. Edwin, I don't know what to say. You were such an important part of our lives, and I still can't beleive that we won't see you again. Edwin has been a part of our lives for the past 10 years. He was a wonderful companion, father figure, brother, son and God father to us. His memory will live in our lives forever. Thank you for being such an unconditional loving part of our family, and for allowing your family to be such an important part of mine.
