Edward Walsh Obituary

Walsh, Edward K. "Yato" born November 18, 1930. Beloved husband of Patricia M. Walsh (nee Didesch), loving father of Michael, Patrick and Timothy, loving grandfather of nine grandchildren. Attended St. Chlotilde's Grammar School, Mount Carmel High School, Loras College (Dubuque, IA), commissioned officer Lieutenant, J. G. USN. A Man of All Seasons, he was a food industry entrepreneur, avid horseman, a man of deep faith and private benefactor of multiple charities, Knight of The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem, and former member of the Board of trustees of Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL). Mentor to many and loved by all who truly knew hem. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 5th, from 6:30 p.m., until 9 p.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 770 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL. A visitation will also be held on Thursday, July 6th, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass 10:30 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Children's Memorial Foundation, 2300 Children's Plaza, Chicago, IL 60614. Our deepest sympthay for the loss of your husband and father..I attended Mt.Carmel and Loras with my old friend "Yato" ..A great person, but I haven't seen him in over 50 years. Our best to your family, and I'll rember him in my prayers.

Pat: Attended grammar school and high school with Ed. We traveled to Dubuque for your wedding. I probably have not seen him since. We lost another old classmate this year, Butch McGuire. We all spent many happy hours together as youngsters. Nancy & I want to extend our profound sympathy.

Yato had to be one of the strongest persons we have known. Despite everything, he never complained. He was truly a gentle giant and he'll be missed by his neighbors and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you move through this trying period.
