Edward Tapling Obituary

Tapling, Edward George 85, of Park Ridge, beloved husband and best friend for over 60 years to Gloria (nee Caponi); proud father of Connie (Seaborn) Smith, Mark, Terri (Eugene) Haga, Peter (Anna), Matthew (Michele) and the late Timothy; loving Papa of Allison (Jordan) Kapitanoff, Jonathan (Kristin) Haga, Michael, Alexander, Sarah, Catherine, Jack and Ben Tapling; grateful great-grandfather of Edward and Henry Kapitanoff and Camden Haga; brother to Rosary Santucci, Sally Pedersen, Irene O'Hara, the late Thomas, the late George and the late Mary Hughes. Edward enjoyed over fifty years as a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church, including his long-term vocation as an usher and volunteer in the parish and over 20 years as a volunteer at St. Francis Hospital. Visitation Tuesday 4:00-8:00p.m. at the M.J. Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy., (Rand Road), Chicago. In state Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 7211 W. Talcott Ave. (at Harlem), 10:30a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chicago Food Depository, 4100 W. 42nd Place, Chicago, IL 60632, would be appreciated. Dad, if you are reading this, we love you. It's five o'clock in heaven! I worked with Ed at St. Francis Hospital. I was an employee at the front desk and he was one of my favorite volunteers. I absolutely loved him and will sorely miss him. My sincerest condolences to you, Gloria, and all of your family. Ed and all of you will be remembered in my prayers.
