During my career I was blessed to have worked with Eddie Siwek, both in uniform and on the tactical team in the 8th district. He was my partner and my friend. My memory of him will go far beyond good police work and awards It will be of those cold, cold January and February nights, on patrol with him in a squad car, windows all rolled up, a cigarette in one of his hands and a cup of coffee in the other and yes, he was driving too. We had a lot of fun together, because that is what the job was back then.
