My cousin Ed was part of my life from an early age. He took me to school when I was 5 years old until I knew the way for myself. All of us cousins were close and our families met almost every week. In summer, we picnicked at groves at small lakes around Chicago and my older cousins taught me to swim at age 4. I have fond memories of all and cousin Ed was up with the best. My husband and I and our kids moved away from Chicago more than 50 years ago and the downside was leaving family like Ed.
