May Uncle Eddie be in peace and his family found solace in the long and fruitful life he lived. I knew Uncle Eddie from my grandfather Walter Rybicki, his cousin. He was such a pleasure to have in our lives. I especially appreciate the friendship Uncle Eddie gave to Grandpa. Many blessings and prayers for Uncle Eddie and his family.

We are sorry for your loss. We know how hard it is to say good-bye. We were fortunate to have known your dad and to know you. Joe enjoyed fishing with him and Uncle Karl in Wisconsin.
May he rest in peace. Moze on odpoczywaja w pokoju. With prayers and in sympathy,
Dolores and Joe Gawel

Aurell, Gary and your families: Our deepest sympathies are with you. Uncle Eddie was a great man, kind and supportive and quick with a funny story from his life. He was always willing to help me with a project around the house or to offer wise advise ("Do you want to do it the fast way or the right way?"). When my wife and I moved to Florida some years ago we lost touch, seeing him only very rarely. This past summer, though, I was able to visit with him and re-connect a small bit. I feel fortunate I did.
Whenever I pick up a hammer or saw, or even begin to consider a project, I will think fondly of your Dad. He will be greatly missed.

I will always remember what a kind, loving and generous man you were for anyone who needed you. You were born in Butternut, Wisc. but your family moved back to Poland and you with them. When you returned, already a United States Citizen, you had no money and could barely speak an english. You told me you learned how to read through comic books. You joined the Merchant Marines during WW2. After you met and married Irene Sosnowski, you tried to go into business building homes only to have your work sold off by your partner. You did not let that stop you. You became a self-made man never turning down a chance to show your gratitude by helping others. It was because of you that your family in the United States is here. You worked hard, saved your money and then brought them over here, to Chicago, from Poland. Once they got here, you did not simply abandon them. No, you gave them a place to live, food to eat, clothes to wear and a job so that they could eventually take care of themselves. Each person eventually became a self-made person in their own right. Time and time again you would do this out of the kindness of your heart. Your wife, Irene, helped you find the job with the Chicago Park District. It was there that your true talents were able to develop into the Master Carpenter your friends, family and co-workers came to know. Many a politician would call you to build or remodel something. I had the pleasure of meeting many of them and they all truely loved their friend "Eddie". I never knew you to turn your back on anyone. You built the home I live in, and raised your grandchildren in. I will miss you but I know you are in a good place surrounded by everyone you ever loved. God blessed me the day I met you and will always think of you as my second Dad. Kathy (Kasia)
