Regan, Edward W. 40 year Veteran CFD, beloved husband of Marguerite (nee Webber), loving father of Edward (Lois), Michael (Claudia), James (Carrie), Marguerite (David), Mary K. (David) East and the late Joseph, cherished grandfather of Cory and Tony O'Brian, Sr. Mary Veronica, Sr. Marie Vianney, Jessica, Michael, Melanie, Mack, Connor, Emily and Katherine, great-grandfather of Kellan and Kade, dear brother of Wayne, Danny, the late James and John, uncle to many nieces and nephews, good friend to many. Funeral Thursday, 10:15 a.m., from Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien, to Holy Trinity Church. Mass 11 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chicago Fire Fighters Union Burn Foundation, 440 W. 43rd St., Chicago, IL, 60609. Dear Mrs. Regan and family,
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I'll always remember how Mr. Regan tried to revive my father the day he died. I also remember when I was little and my dad cut down a pine tree that held a nest of baby birds. I was so upset that the birds would die. Your husband leaned over the fence, took the nest from my dad and said the guys at the firehouse would take care of the birds and make sure that they learned to fly. I believed him. He was a kind man and a good neighbor. (And he taught us to put honey in our barbecue sauce -- my brother Glenn and I still do.) You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Auntie Margie, I was so very sad to get the news of Uncle Eddie. I wish I was there. He always gave me a good laugh. He sure was one hell of a joker. HE WILL BE MISSED GREATLY. Who will give me a hard time now about staying on the same job for so many years. You, young Ed, Mike, Jimmy, Margarite, and mary are all in my thoughts and prayers. You guys had a greaT DAD. Heck he was a REGAN.
