To the McCaskey Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Mr. McCaskey's passing. After just loosing my father in February, I can tell you that your memories will help you through. I really don't have alot of memories of Mr. McCaskey but the one I do is the one that always comes to mind when his name was mentioned. It was the middle of winter just after the new church at St. Emily's was built, I was probably in 3rd grade. He was standing in the lobby after mass in a huge raccoon coat. He was huge and I was so little. Even though I didn't know him that well, he always stayed that huge man in my mind.

Dear Virginia and family,
My deepest sympathy is extended at the loss of this fine man. I was privileged to know him when I worked for the Bears as a team orthopedist in years past.I was honored to work for the McCaskey family. This is a loving and close family that in many ways reflected the warmth of its departed patriarch. He will be missed by all of those fortunate enough to have met him. God bless you and comfort you.

Dear Family,
First met dear Ed in 1960 when Michael was assigned to my English class at Notre Dame High School, then by "proxy" when my daughter and her family moved in across the street. How sweetly my grandchildren spoke of his kindnesses to them! As
a gentle singer said: "It's not what you take with you, but what you leave behind."! God bless you all.
You all now have an intercessor.

Dear Virginia and devoted children and family of Ed McCaskey:
On behalf of my mom and all of us at Eli's, we want to extend our deepest regrets over the passing of Ed.
He was a great friend of my dad, Eli, and would always light up our dining room whenever he came to Eli's the Place for Steak. He loved good food, to sing and to go to the races with my dad--the secret to my dad's heart.
With our love,
Marc Schulman

During my employ with the Chicago
Bear organization (1974-1979), Ed McCaskey would stop by my desk with
his coffee and chocolate donut in
hand and proceed to croon a tune to
me. What a terrific way to begin a
work day! Peace to you, Ed McCaskey, and love to your wonderful

Ed was a veteran of the US Army's 80th Division in WWII, along with my father. I didn't know Ed until I wrote a tribute to the men of the 80th, and I sent a copy to Ed's office. He picked up the phone and called me, and we had a heart to heart talk. He and I were strangers, but not after that phone call. I'll always remember his voice as he remembered his men way back then. It was clear that he never ceased caring for the comrades of his youth.

Dear George, Tim, Rick, Brian & All:
So sorry to read about your dad's passing. I cherish the memory of one evening when I coached him for a couple of hours in the Band Room at Notre Dame H.S., rehearsing our national anthem, which he was preparing to sing for a Bears pre-season game. I tuned in the game, anxious to hear Ed display the results of our work together. Of course he sang it as though we'd never got together! Fond memories!
You are all in my heart.
Blessings,
Fitz
