Edward Markey Obituary

Edward A. Markey, 87, a U.S. Armed Forces veteran of World War II, and a lineman for the Connecticut Light and Power Company for 31 years until his retirement in 1981, died at the Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, December 14, 2003. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, December 26, 2003, 3-7 p.m., at Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home, 118 Main Street, Canaan, CT. Funeral services with military honors will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 27 at 10:15 a.m., followed by a Liturgy of Christian burial in St. Joseph's Church at 11 a.m. Burial will in the Parrish Cemetery. Memorial donations are appreciated to Canaan Fire Company, Canaan, CT 06018 or North Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps., P.O. Box 178, Canaan, CT 06018. Arrangements entrusted to Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home, Ludlow, Massachusetts.
