Kanter, Edward

Edward "Ed" Kanter, 86, of Skokie. Loving husband for 47 years of the late Judy, the love of his life; beloved brother-in-law of Naomi Shisler; cherished son of the late Morris and Anna Kanter; dear brother of the late Betty (late William) Karr and the late Annette (late Alvin) Schuman; fond uncle of the late Cheryl Karr, Richard (late Terri) Karr, Craig (Cindy) Schuman, Lauri Kaplan, Barbara (David) Carlson and many great nieces and nephews. Mr. Kanter was a proud U.S. Army veteran having faithfully served during the Viet Nam war. He was an active member of the American Legion, a graduate of Roosevelt University and Kent School of Law. Mr. Kanter was a partner at the law firm of Chaimson and Kanter for 38 years and was known for his pro bono work. Ed loved telling jokes and knew how to light up a room. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette, IL 60091. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to charity of your choice appreciated. For funeral information 847-256-5700.
