Edward Jennings Obituary

On Sept. 6, as I held my loving husband in my arms, the angels came and escorted him on his final journey to eternal peace and love.
Having just celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary, Edward R. Jennings, 78, passed peacefully after a brief illness.
A man of immense love, character and integrity, he was loved by all who knew him and he was known for his very special Irish wit and nicknames.
He was a man of varied interests whose determination and perseverance always assured success.
A graduate of Central high school, he began his professional career as a pipefitter in Local 524, becoming general foreman in the 1980's Agnes flood.
He then worked for A J Demore & Sons until he and his partner formed Petro & Jennings, Mechanical Contractors. He next established Pocono Springs Bottled Water Company which became the third largest in the country with offices in Princeton, New Jersey, the suburbs of Philadelphia and West Chester County, New York, later becoming a multi-faceted beverage company.
Ed was a member of the Elmhurst Country Club and previously served on the Elmhurst Planning Commission.
Always the "go-to-guy" for answers and advice both professionally and personally, he was a problem-solver, strategist and, above all, an ethical, honest businessman who mentored many people, including his four very precious grandchildren.
Integrity was always paramount to Ed and, in over 30 years, I never heard a cross word said of him.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward R. Jennings II and Ann Frances Mangan Jennings; brother, Patrick Jennings; former wife, Peggy Kleckler Jennings; brother-in-law, James F. McDonough; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Jennings.
Ed leaves behind his devoted wife, Dr. Patricia Jennings; daughter, Peggy Jennings Valdivia and husband, Ramon; four grandchildren, Mario Saldutti, Elizabeth Saldutti, Timothy Saldutti and Alyssa Valdivia, who adore him; and sisters, Catherine Jennings Pinataro and husband, Jerry; Ann Jennings McDonough, Mary Jennings; and brother, Paul Jennings; and several nieces and nephews.
Ed will be long remembered by the many he mentored for his character, courage and down-to-earth nature.
Ed, my darling, you will be dearly missed, and I promise I look forward to the day I will reunite with you soon.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024 at 10 a.m. in St. Eulalia's Church, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Twp., Pa.
Friends may call Monday, Sept. 9, 2024 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Duffy & Snowdon Funeral Home, 401 Church St., Moscow, Pa.
