Ed was a true gentleman who was cut from the right fabric. He was a policeman's policeman. I enjoyed working with him during my time at O'Hare.

Heartfelt condolences to the entire Bourke family. I can't count the number of times I must have trudged from Ponchartrain Blvd (which Mr. Bourke often reminded me was the widest street in the city!)to the home on Lehigh Avenue of one of the best families in the Wildwood Park community. I relished the countless hours sitting in the kitchen with Pat and friends listening to countless stories from Mr. and Mrs. Bourke over an endless supply of Skittles and Coca Cola (thank goodness for The Wearhouse Club!). If any of us every felt down and needed some encouragement, we knew we could always head over to the house and instantly have a smile put on our face by Mr. Bourke (after a beat down or two by Tim or John). He was a great mentor, positive role model and as true and loyal a friend as anyone could ever have. I am a better person for having been part of Mr. Bourke's life and the extended Bourke clan. God Bless you Mr. Bourke and the entire family. You will be sorely missed but NEVER forgotten.

To the Entire Bourke family,

I was truly one of the luckiest police officers to work with and know Ed Bourke. He was trained by my Uncle William Gruber in the Old Cragin Ave Station. What a gentleman and humanitarian God Bless you Eddie. There is brighter star shining in the heavens today.
