Mr Brongiel was my English teacher at St Rita in the late 1960's. I was just an average student. However, he took an interest in me and told me that I had the capability of doing much better in school. We had several discussions over the year and he gave me the confidence to believe in myself and to do great things. His advice and encouragement are one of the main reasons I became an Emergency Physician. He was one of the best influences of my life. I am truly indebted to him and to St Rita High School. St. Rita taught men how to be men and how to be gentlemen. I am confident that their mission continues. Bless you all.

I wanted to write words so beautiful they'd leap from the page and surround your family with comfort and love. May the wings of angels surround and comfort you all. God Bless you and keep you and know that we send our love and prayers. We are so deeply sorry for your loss.
Ed, you will be sorely missed by many.
Not only were you a unique and thoughtful person, you were my confidant and dear friend. Always available to listen and ready with sound advice. I only hope you know how loved you are; how welcome the sound of your voice, your letters and visits, and what a gaping hole your passing leaves in our hearts. You will never be forgotten.

Ed was like an uncle to me and Mia. He always sent us cards and gifts. We are going to miss him alot. He always talked to me like I was an adult, rather than some kid. We talked on the phone alot, more than I did with any of my real uncles. I'm really going to miss him.

Mr. Brongiel will be truly missed by the entire St. Rita H.S. family. I had the pleasure of having him for my English teacher for three of my four years at St. Rita. He was a great teacher, and even a better man. May he rest in peace.

Edmund's gentle spirit will be missed. He was always taking care of somebody else so I'm sure that he is being taken care of now.
