On Friday, December 22, 2023, Editha made her transition. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at A. A. Rayner Funeral Home, 318 E, 71st Street, Chicago, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation, in her name, to any of the following charities: WTTW Chicago; JourneyCare Hospice and Palliative Care; or PAWS Chicago.

Moma was always treated me like I was her son. I never called her Mrs. Walker, I called her Moma. Every morning, Sean would tell her don´t let Phil in the house too wake me up. She let me in every time and her door was always open for me. Every time me and Sean would be goofy, she would join in with her sense of humor. She would joke with us all the time. I always knew when she was serious, she would give Sean dat look. Then he be like wat I do Moma. Moma never downed us during our teenage years. She was always on our team.

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Ms Walker personally, but from reading her bio, she sounds like she was an amazing woman. I do know she raised an amazing, equally gifted daughter. My condolences to you, Rennetta and to your family.
