To the Parenteau family,
My heart broke when I heard the news about Dudley. It had been years since I saw him last; we went to grade school together, and ran into eachother a few times afterward. I remember him being a really nice person with an infectious smile. Please know that his light lives on in all he touched, and that my prayers are with you during these difficult days.

Dear Dudley and Ginny,
I was so shocked and sad to hear about DJ. He was one of the neighborhood guys who always looked out for us. I even remember what I was wearing the last time I saw him (I was borrowing something for Louise for a party, of course). He invited me to come in and sit down with the guys--he was always so welcoming. One of the things I remember best (aside from going out with him in high school) was the photo shoot for Ziggy Zerang's album cover. There we were, all of us, on the beach and doing what we did best: hanging out and making memories. I've scanned the jacket and you can see the photos for yourself.
I think of him every time I call my daughter, Daphne Josephine, by her initials.
You are in my prayers, and please give a special hug to Paul from an old friend.

Dear Parenteau Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of DJ's death. We went to grade school together and I have only fond memories of him. One favorite memory was of him walking me home from the granville el about 20 yrs ago, following a snow storm...I was wearing ridiculously high heels and DJ walked me to my door, making sure I didn't wipe out. What a great guy! My thougts and prayers are with you all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Parenteau family during this difficult time. I knew DJ for a long time and for many years we traveled the same road hitting every pothole along the way it seems. I had not seen him in over 7 yrs, but knowing DJ the way I did, I'm sure he would still give you the shirt off his back no matter what. He was a true and great friend.
