Dudley Fornengo Obituary

Fornengo, Dudley Dwight Ross affectionately known as DeeDee, loving wife of John D. Fornengo, loving mother of Dudley Matthews (Daisy), John Augustus and Alexander Ross Fornengo. A Mayflower descendant, DeeDee was a member of the D.A.R. and Women's Board of the Lincoln Park Zoo. She belonged to The Racquet Club of Chicago, the Saddle and Cycle and the Casino. An avid trap and skeet shooter, DeeDee worked to save the Lincoln Park Gun Club of Chicago. Owner of Dudley Ross Interiors, she left behind beautiful examples of her work in Chicago, Lake Forest and Lake Geneva. DiDi Clothing, her couture fashion line dressed some of the most well known women in the city. A homemaker, DeeDee maintained beautiful homes in Chicago and Lake Geneva, where she died Saturday morning, at her beloved Knob Hill Farm. She was a graduate of Kemper Hall Academy for Girls, The Latin School of Chicago and Lake Forest College. A Memorial will be held at St. Chrysostom's Church, 1424 N. Dearborn, Thursday, August 12, at 1 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the DeeDee Fornengo Fund at the ALS Therapy Development Foundation, 215 First St., Cambridge, MA, 02142.
