Douglas Kershaw Obituary

Douglas H. Kershaw 1920 ~ 2003  Mr. Douglas H. Kershaw, 83, of 6271 Clark Street Chincoteague, died following a lingering illness Wednesday, May 14, 2003.  Born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday, March 7, 1920, Mr. Kershaw was the son of the late William H. and Anna Margreta (Edwards) Kershaw.  He served in the Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr Kershaw served as a Branch President in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a Former National Secretary Treasurer of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE). He was a national representative for AFGE until he retired in 1983. Mr. Kershaw is survived by his wife, Patricia Strong Kershaw, his children Stephen Thomas (Kathee), Esparto CA; Rev. John William (Jackie), Monroe MI; Margaret Edith Emerick, Winterville, GA; Bishop William Douglas (Barbara), Garland TX; LarkAnn Hollister (Dick), Renton, WA; Steven Strong, Issaquah, WA; daughter-in-law Barbara (widow of David Strong), Salt Lake City, UT; Tom Strong (Lorna), West Valley, UT; Cindi deCapiteau (Ted), Heathsville, VA; Becky Gill (Robert), Middletown, MD; 28 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Religious services were held Friday, May 16th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Onley, VA. President Rawings Scott officiated. Services will be held Monday, May 19th, 10 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S., Sandy, UT, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery with Bishop William Douglas Kershaw officiating. Flowers accepted but donations may be made to the Primary Children's Medical Center Foundation, P.O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, Utah 84158.
