I was so surprised that I even looked at my old AOL email. And I was touched that I saw the remembrance of Doug´s memorial. Doug was a neighbor, a friend during some hard years, and a lovely man. I think of him and want all who love him to know he is remembered. [email protected]

I would like to offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Doug. I will miss his sweet smile, wry laugh and quick wit. I met Doug on the roof of the 5048 Marine Building while watching an Air Show. We chatted and realised that our windows faced each other across the courtyard. We shared numerous moments on the phone, visiting local eateries, driving to his family for Christmas, and talking about our hopes, dreams, fears, strengths, and weaknesses. Doug was a VERY strong man. He was sensitive and that sensitivity caused him great pain. As with many of us, sadly, he was more able to reach out and offer a hand of help to others than to make lasting changes to make his own life as rewarding as he desired. But that doesn't diminish the power of his strength or the brightness of his light. Doug, I'll remember you as I look up to the sky and see the wonderful planes go by. I'm glad that this night you are at complete and total rest. Peace!
