Dorothy Tiner Obituary

Dorothy E. "Dot" Tiner of Montgomery, a retired food service Dietician for Letchworth Village in Thiels, N.Y. and an eight-year resident of the area died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 in Montgomery. She was 76.

The daughter of the late Milo and Ruth Lavalley, she was born July 8, 1929 in Potsdam, N.Y.

She was a member of St. Mary's Church and a life member of Elks Ladies Auxiliary, Haverstraw B.P.O.E.

She was the widow of Edward Tiner.

Survivors include her daughters Carol Benincasa and her husband Richard of Montgomery and Margie Shavitz and her husband Stan of Melbourne, Fla.; son-in-law Mathew Rough of Warwick; five grandchildren Joey, Cheryl, Jessica, Jennifer and Mathew; one great-grandson Michael; sister Margaret Sheridan of Melbourne, Fla.

She was predeceased by daughter Bunny Rough.

Visitation will be Friday, February 17 from 7-9 p.m. at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St. Montgomery.

A funeral Mass will be Saturday, February 18 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 89 Union St., Montgomery.

Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Orange, 800 Stony Brook Ct., Newburgh, NY 12550.

Arrangements were made by Millspaugh Funeral Directors.
