Dorothy Stevens Obituary

Stevens, Dorothy A. beloved daughter of the late Dr. Michael V. and Kathryn Kelly Stevens, loving sister of the late Mary Kathryn Stevens. Dorothy earned her B.A. in Education from Chicago Teachers College in 1942 and her M.A. in Education from Loyola University in 1957. In her first assignment as principal, she opened the new Mollison Elementary School, where she served from 1962 -1981. She then served as principal of Pierce Elementary School from 1982 until her retirement from the Chicago Board of Education in 1985. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Chicago Principals Association, Irish-American Teachers Association, and the Aquin Guild. Family and friends will meet at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 10621 S. Kedvale Ave., Oak Lawn, on Tuesday morning for visitation, 11 a.m., prior to Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
