Ms. Stevens was my principal for five years, when I began my teaching career and was assigned to Mollison School. I respected her and admired her administrative and instructional leadership skills. Her life was dedicated to the children of the Chicago public schools.

Dorothy later moved into a building in the downtown area, where my family had the grocery store. We exchanged Christmas cards and I visited her in the nursing home, together with one of the teachers from Peirce School, Ms. Ricker.

A friend of Dorothy's telephoned and gave me the sad news of her death. I will have a Mass offered for her and extend my deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

On behalf of the officers and staff of LaSalle Bank I want to again send my condolences. I enjoyed getting to know Dorothy over the last 10 years and know she will be missed by many.
