Dorothy Spiewak Obituary

Spiewak, Dorothy G. (nee Catlin) Age 84, formerly of North Barrington, Illinois, peacefully passed away from breast cancer in her home in Mesa, Arizona on Saturday October 10, 2015. Beloved wife of the late Paul; loving mother of Kathleen (John) Boyle, Paul (Mary) Spiewak, Debra (Ron) Beyer and Phillip (Dawn) Spiewak; dearest grandmother of Ron (Annette) Beyer, Nicole (Peter) Lonson, Ryan Beyer, Patrick (Caitlin) Boyle, Danielle (Scott) Shasteen, Joanna (John) Eval, Megan (Dan) Visconti, Kimberly Boyle, Jessica Spiewak, Becky Spiewak and Jonathon Catlin; proud great-grandmother of MacKenzie, Adyson, Ashley, Jack, Lucas, Logan and Ryan. Dorothy is survived by her brother, James Catlin; sisters, Carol Jarocki and Patricia (Bill) Wilkin. Dorothy was a fantastic mom, loved to play cards, was a Campfire leader and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was very knowledgeable and well-read about American history and traveled to many of the American Battlefields. She was an avid Cubs fan whose favorite players included Andy Pafco, Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, and Anthony Rizzo. She had a wonderful sense of humor and one of her favorite sayings was, "It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice." Memorial visitation will be November 14, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. up until time of mass at 10:00 a.m. St. Raymond de Penafort at 301 S. Ioka, Mt. Prospect, Illinois.
