Sampson, Dorothy M. (nee Thau), age 71, loving wife of the late James C. retired CFD, beloved mother of Carol (Joseph), John, Kevin (Deborah), James P. (Maureen), Philip (Julie) and Peter (Heather), dear grandmother of Christine, Ryan, Erin, Kate, Kevin, Megan, Leah, Derek, Grace, Molly, Bridget, Peter and Margaret, fond sister of Rosemary (Jim) Duffy, Carol (Richard) Hostert, Marilyn (Matthew) Urbin and Virginia (Conrad) Campe, dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. Funeral Monday, 9:30 a.m., from Birren & Son/Lain-Hursen Funeral Home, 6125 N. Clark St., to St. Gertrude Church for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Visitation Sunday, from 3 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Center at Alexian Brothers Hospital, 800 W. Biesterfield Rd., Elk Grove Village, 60007, would be appreciated. 773-743-1020
