Dorothy Carroll Obituary

Dorothy M. (Tharp) Carroll, 89, of Anderson, Indiana went to be with her lord on June 9, 2003 at Community Hospital in Anderson after an extended illness. The daughter of Charles and Amanda (Ruth) Tharp she was born in Alexandria, Indiana on July 25, 1913, and lived most all of her life in this area while wintering in Bradenton, Fla. for many years.

She retired in 1976 from Delco-Remy after 28 years service. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Jolly Keenagers and the R.S.V.P. club.

Survivors include two grandchildren Vikki Lynn Canaday and husband Brian of Anderson; Pamela Mounts Hill and husband Doug of Anderson. Three Great Grandchildren Robert Alan Mounts, Jr.; Joseph Ryan Mounts; Casey Jo Canaday. Two brothers Clarence Tharp of Mishawaka, Indiana; Robert Tharp and wife Sally of Elwood, IN; Three Sisters Margaret Embree and husband Jesse of Anderson; Catherine Green and husband Joe of Anderson; Phyllis Howard and husband Bill of Anderson. One step-son James Wilson and wife Wanda; 8-Step-Grandchildren; Several Nieces & Nephews including a special nephew Rick Howard and a special church friend Mary Lanning.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter W. Carroll; Daughter Barbara Jean Stephenson; one brother and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church or Camp Isanogel of Muncie, IN.
