Dear loved ones of Doris Bergman,
How saddened I was to learn today of Doris' passing. What a joyous lady she was! It was my pleasure to have given Doris voice lessons for several years and to know Doris very intimately too. She dearly loved music and went to great lengths to keep her voice in good shape so that she could continue to sing. I will never forget the concert that we gave together at Trinity Lutheran Church. She worked so hard and sang so well for this her first solo recital at an age when most people would have long ago stopped singing. I was SO impressed with her performance. It was wonderful! She sang beautifully. She wanted more that anything else to sing for her grandchildren and be a role model for them. She often spoke of their musical interests and hoped that they would continue to love music as she did. Being married to a doctor, Doris and I also shared similar concens about being married to a man who is a workaholic and in a very demanding occupation that sometimes comes as a great cost to your own relationship with each other. Doris stood by Mark so resolutely and supported him in everything that he did even though I am sure that she was very lonesome much of the time. And Mark never said no to anyone at anytime. Doris also loved to travel and even after Mark's death continued to take groups of people on tours-with her two new knees!! I will remember Doris for her great joy, sparkle, warmth, love of travel, and her great love of music. She will be a wonderful addition to the soprano section of the angel's choir above. She was SO thoughtful and loving. My thoughts and love are with you at this time of your loss. Love, Neva Bailey
