Grandpa, It's so hard to imagine not seeing your smiling face or hearing that vibrant laugh of yours(my fondest memory), which on its own spoke many words. I would always look forward to the days I got to see you grandpa, for I knew I would walk away with a smile on my face...and your smile in my heart. Always so positive and happy, always such a caring and giving man, these are all just a few of the many things that I will always remember about you. Part of you will live on in all of us FOREVER!!

I love you always,

JILL

Oh my dear, sweet Don Somerville.
Iv'e been trying to put together these lines to salut you and tell you fare well. Every time I start a new page I remember all of the stories about you. Sometimes the stories all come to me at once and then I miss you so, so, much. oh! dear Don, I don't want to hold back my tears, I don't want to make you sad, so I spend my time singing and smiling. I'll remember that you were always by my side, and that gives me a feel of joy in my heart.
You gave us all nothing but the best, every step of the way, every minute that we shared. I just wish that I was capable of retaining all of this legacy of memories that are by themselves imarkable values; like a true colossal, conquror, bearing his own standard,
you have transmitted with your enthusiasm, courage, desire for success, humbleness, optimism, ect, ect...
Again I say you have evoked on us the desire and inspiration to be truthfull to ourselves, without the hint of somebodyelse's colors, to uncover our true identity. To plant our feet on earth, and grow because we can, because you did it. Always bearing the standard of love.
Now you are above us, in a privileged place, watching over us. Nothing escapes your wisdom any more. Now you know the answers to all of the questions and doubts you had, and made you worry or be sad.I know this experience must have been very hard, just another learning experience huh? But I'm sure you understand more than many people could begin to imagine. Therefore your responsibility to help and give so much, regardless of the situation, condition, or who it was. I saw mercy in your eyes and in your words. It is unbeleivable how fast you change it all. That is why I beleive you will forgive us all if you should.
I might sound to adulative, but whomever met you and or got to know you should know better, that i'm still short for words, it's simply impossible to summarize in just a few pages. It's ridiculus to pretend.
I hope with all of my heart that you've already found peace, no, I'm sure you already have. you spent your life trying to redeem yourself, becoming a better person, a better friend, and a better father. Every aspect you improved in was so evident that you won admiration and peoples love big time. Big time champion!
I feel like I told you before how honored and gratefull I am with god for bringing you into my life, and letting me witness through you the real beuaty of life.
Smile sweet, lovely Don, you are with your family now. And from my family I am here to tell you that you and now David have become part of ours.
Mom also said amongst so many other things, that you were already by god, not to worry, because of all of the good you acomplished, and that knowbody can deny.
Pray for us!
I love you,
Lorena Del Carmen

Grandpa,

Though it has been a week since your death, I still can't believe your gone. What I liked about you was your willingness to go towards something and turn it into success. Your drive of ambition and to live life has taught people your dreams can become a reality. You will be missed but not forgotten. I will not forget your strong and happy spirit. Love, Kelsey

Grandpa, I can see you now... telling all the angels and the saints about your adventures. You always had a story to tell, and we had plenty of stories to share about you these past few days as well!

I have many great memories of my grandfather, but most permanently etched in my mind was the look on your face when you got off the plane in Key West, FL. You flew down to visit me, and were so excited because the pilot of the twin engine plane let you take the controls for a short time. I remember the excitement in your eyes because you got to fly the plane!

We all fly our own plane Grandpa, through good weather and bad. I know that my piloting skills are a little bit better because I know that you loved me, and I know now that you know I loved you!

God-speed my dear Grandpa! Til we meet again and you can tell me about your latest adventures.

Love always,

Ricky

Grandpa,

You were a very loving person. I have many memories with you. You may not always have had time to make every family party but you always managed to call or stop by to visit with my mom. I will always remember your great sense of humor. You always knew how to make people laugh. You were loved by many many people. I know that you had stress and things lately but you should have known that you could have talked to almost anyone in the family and they could have helped you out. I know that you cared for each and every one of us. I love you and will miss you so very much! love always, Melanie

Don (Dad), ironically, I came upon this email chain message today, May 28, 2003, when looking for a personal contact to notify them of your passing. I think it is a message from you to us all and thus will record it here to share with all of us grieving for you now. It is called Living.

There are moments in life when you miss someone so

much that you just want to pick them from your dreams

and hug them for real! When the door of happiness

closes, another opens; but often times we look so long

at the closed door that we don't see the one which has

been opened for us.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for

wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes

you smile, (as you have for us) because it takes only a smile to make a

dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your

heart smile.

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go;

be what you want to be, because you have only one life

and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,

enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to

keep you human, enough hope to make you happy. The

happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they

just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always be based on a

forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you

let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone

around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end,

you're the one who is smiling and everyone

around you is crying.

Please send this message to those people who mean

something to you (I JUST DID); to those who have

touched your life in one way or another; to those

who make you smile when you really need it; to those

who make you see the brighter side of things when you

are really down; to those whose friendship you

appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your

life. And if you don't,! don't worry, nothing bad will

happen to you; you will just miss out on the

opportunity to brighten someone's day with this

message!!!

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,

but by the moments that take our breath away!

We will always remember you.

Love,

Keith and Frances
