Kathy, Mimi, Raymond, Tommy, Laura, Sharon, Jeannie, Michael and Trish,

I was deeply saddened to learn of your mother's death. It was sad to drive past her darkened house last night, but most of my memories are of that earlier house on Norwood, when the babies were still arriving and chaos reigned. She handled it all with ease! It's been a long time since I've seen most of you, but I do think of your family often and will keep you in my prayers. Jack and Betty wanted me to pass on their condolences as well.

To my family,
I'm very sorry that we could not make it to say good-bye to Grandma, although I know she's still here. I love to listen to the church bells in my backyard because it reminds me of summers at Grandma's. I somehow can not bring myself to buy a box of Tuna Helper although loved sharing it with her. And the theme song to General Hospital always makes me think of her with a glass of Coke. I love you all and wish I could have been there to share your memories and sorrow. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Love, Shane, Tina, Cody, Austin, Kaylin and Jaxon

To Mimi and all your family - What a great tribute to your Mom! It was great seeing your whole family together and the beautiful ceremony you put together for her. We all know how much she was loved and how much love she had for all of you. She will always be missed but she will also always be a part of your heart. Love you, Betty

To the McDermott Family, I did not know you all very well but I do know how much my cousins, Peg and Tom Donlon loved your mom. I am sure your mom was a wonderful mom and I know she will be missed. I am also sure it is party time up in Heaven!! My sympathies to you all.

To all the McDermott families, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother. I have so many memories of growing up around your house(s). I have to second the memory that Tommy Donlon had mentioned regarding the RC pop bottles and bread sandwiches. She has nine great kids and I was just happy to be one of the many other dozens of extra kids she had around the house as well.

For my beloved childhood family:

Mrs.McDermott was the hardest working person I have ever known. As a child, I would watch in awe when visiting. Since I am the same age as Raymond, there were only two McDermott's older than I was: Kathy and Mimi. That left six children younger! Mrs. Mac was always cooking and doing wash! She was a tiny lady, but had such incredible energy. Raising nine children was a Herculean task, and she accomplished this with grace and a smile. As I read all of the names of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren tears came to my eyes. I know how much she will be missed, because I know how much she was loved.

My deepest condolences go out to the entire family. I am very sorry for your loss. Even though I didn't personally know Mrs. McDermott I certainly felt like I did from the loving stories pass along by my father.

hi guys; I really don't know what to say but I'M so sorry. You all know your family and ours the Donlon's wer'e like one family. Your mom was almost like my second mom. Heck she was my second mom, Ihad to do what she said just like I had to do what my mom said. She was always around when anyone needed her. She was always cheerful which I don't know how with all her own kids to worry about. Believe me I was around bothering her alot. I'll miss her for all the good times she let me have at your house. The 9 months before I went in the service were probably the best. Room temperature 16 oz. bottle of R.C. cola and bread sandwiches watching the 3:30 movie waiting for the kids to come home. The two of us were nuts. I'll never forget her. THANKS MRS. MAC for everything. WITH MUCH LOVE TO THE WHOLE FAMILY TOM (TOMMY) DONLON

Dear Mimi and the rest of the Kennedy/McDermott Clan,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. When your mother dies, it leaves a hole that cannot be filled, but with time, I pray that you will once again focus on the wonderful shared times and gifts she brought to your life, balancing and overshadowing this period of pain. My love and thoughts are with you all.

Ray and siblings - Sorry to her about your Mom. I'm glad I got a chance to speak with her last Fall when I saw her standing outside the house with Mimi. A lot of good memories in that house. I will be on the road so will not be able to attend services.

Dear Mimi and all your brothers and sisters,
I was shocked to hear of your mother's passing. Coming as suddenly as it did all of you are certainly in shock as well. My heart goes out to each and everyone one of you at this very sad time. Your mother contributed greatly to this world in the form of all of her wonderful, kind, considerate and loving children. All of you, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren are her legacy and it is a fine legacy indeed. Please know that you are in my thoughts and my prayers and I hope you are able to draw comfort from the knowledge that your mother has gone to a place of divine beauty and serene peace. . . a place that knows no strife, no disease and most importantly, no sorrow.
Love you,
Jeri
