Wisner, Dennis A. "Wiz"

Dennis A. "Wiz" Wisner, 80, of Monticello, IN, passed away at 1:11 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. He was born on Tuesday, June 30, 1942, in Chicago to the late Anthony and Mary (Sintich) Wisner. Wiz had lived in the rural Monticello, IN, area since May of 2021, coming from the Schererville, IN, area. He loved his jukebox, lawn, and gardening, watering his grass, coffee, cars, smokes, and especially his grand dog Mazie. Wiz was a deputy sheriff for Cook County for ten years. He was a brick layer/foreman for the city of Chicago Sewer District for the remainder of his career. Surviving are four children, Jeffery (wife Cindi) Wisner of Plainfield, David (wife Karen) Wisner of Hebron, IN, Daniel "Dan" (wife Carrie) Wisner of Monticello, IN, and Jennifer (husband Frank) Grynovich of DeMotte, IN; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; companion, Linda Miller of Schererville, IN; sister, Theresa "Terri" Hoffarth of California; brother-in-law, Carl Swanson of Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. Wiz was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mary (Sintich) Wisner; three sisters, Grace Welch – Crnjak, Estelle Tilley, and Darlene Swanson; and two brothers, William, and Ronald Wisner. There will be a private memorial service for the family. Miller – Roscka Funeral Home of Monticello, Indiana, is honored to assist the family.
