Dennis Williams Obituary

Williams, Dennis Clarence 7IC20150 departed this life and made his transition on Saturday, July 13, 2002. Born in Meridian, Mississippi spent the major part of his life in Chicago, after moving here with his mother and family at a very young age. Dennis was married to his beloved wife, Ruby Jean Williams for 33 years. Together three children were born, all of Chicago, IL. Dennis Keith Williams, Keely Lauree Williams and Demetrious Leon Williams. Dennis lived and enjoyed life. A very active member of the Langley Avenue Church of God, there he served for years in many capacities. He was able to do multiple tasks and had a willingness to do so. Dennis served on the Chicago Police Force for 10 years and later opened his own security business. He owned and operated a successful security business and enjoyed his work and always tried diligently to please his customers. His focus was always on doing something to assist others. He was active in outreach programs. He founded and presented "The Taking it to the Streets" ministries. This program aired on Friday nights 88.1 FM radio station for many years. He felt a compelling desire to share his knowledge with others. Helping others was his major purpose in this life. He served in the United States Army. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20th, at the Langley Avenue Church of God, 6157 South Langley, Chicago, IL 60637. Wake 10 a.m. Funeral 11 a.m. Visit Guest Book at www.suntimes.com
