Well for those of you who don’t know me, I am related through Bill (Battalion Chief of CFD and wife Jeanne Fleming(Also thank you for putting them in the obituary... that truly means a lot to see their names even after all these years after their passing. Well, my Pa’s(Bill) oldest sister was Shirley O’Hare ( maiden name Fleming... my Aunt Shirley married Dennis O’Hare Sr. and from then until and after I was born I would have forever more an Aunt Shirley and and an Uncle Dennis! Unknown to me because I was in heaven waiting to be born they were creating a VERY BIG family for me to be a part of...lots of cousins, aunts, uncles, always weddings and me babies so more family and I love them ALL...just so you all know!
What I really wanted to come on here to say is that I REALLY and TRULY LOVE the prayer or poem you picked to be on the back of your dad’s Mass card. It truly does get to the point and it hits your heart and hits home. I know that is how my beloved and faithful departed would want me to feel about them. Just sometimes we miss them so much it gets hard. By the way my dad and I planted two trees by the Marciniak plot when we went to see our family and “clean them up” or “give them hair cuts” on Friday!
Well, I hope the Funeral went smoothly today and you all got to to say your proper good byes. Goodbye once more Uncle Dennis I love you! Have fun up there with Pa, I know he’ll talk your ears off, Mummy will probably just listen and enjoy my Grandma’s fabulous cooking, she will have you loosening your belt in no time! Dennis and Shirley together again...just the way it’s supposed to be!

Dennis was such a thoughtful man. Smiled at everyone and truly enjoyed life. Loved his family and friends. Enjoyed being a Chicago Policeman and attending the Police Mass. we will miss his smile and stories

I knew Mr O'Hare through my Dad, Raymond Callahan. My Dad always had such great stories and great things to say about 'Denny'. I met the man, the myth at a few wakes and found him to live up to his reputation. I was very saddened to hear of his passing. I know this will deeply sadden my Dad as well! My profound condolences to his family and friends, he will surely be missed and fondly remembered.

Heartfelt and prayerful condolences from the Chicago Police Chaplains. Denny will be remembered at the next Police Mass.
In the meantime, may family and friends know the healing touch of our all-loving, all-merciful God! [Police Chaplains Ministry: www.ChicagoPCM.org or 312/738-7588]

One of the nicest, if not the nicest guys, you would ever want to meet. Devoted husband and family man. Losing Dennis is a great loss to many, many people.
