Dennis Murphy was my oldest friend. We met on Damen Avenue when we were 6 years old. We played baseball on the short side of McKinley Park with the neighborhood greats...Tommy Score, Johnny Colasari, Mike Chico, Brian and Mark Sokolowski and yes even Jim Stewart and who could forget Puss! We played hockey on the lagoon even as it cracked under our feet. We played football in the Murph's front yard, he was always Bronco Nagurdski (his pronounciation not mine). We shot 8 million army men with rubberbands in the sand next to the old brick barbeque in front of the garage. Then there was Mike and Jimmy, our arch enemies, his brother and my brother. T'was a heated rivalry it'was! Made all of us southsiders...so we would fight...how else you gonna get a broken nose! He will always be remebered with his Irish eyes a'smilin' and his laugh and he did like to laugh!! I SHALL REMEMBER HIM AS MY OLDEST FRIEND...O m'anam

While we haven't seen or talked to each other for the past few years or so, I will truely miss my ole buddy. I will never forget all the good times we had together. My prayers will be with you and all your family.
