McCarthy, Dennis J. age 75, beloved father of Brian, Stacey (Jeff) Melgard and Todd McCarthy. loving grandfather of Charlotte and Claire Melgard; and Aidan McCarthy. Dennis was a Korean War Veteran for the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Fordham Prep School and Fordham University. Dennis was also a Devoted Cubs Fan. Funeral Thursday, 9:30 a.m. from Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., to Queen of All Saints Basilica for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Brian, Stacy and Todd:
I cannot easily put into words how much your father meant to me. It was only recently that I received the news of his passing. He was without a doubt one of the kindest and most decent individuals I have ever met. I will miss him greatly. Please accept our heartfelt and sincere condolences. May God Bless you and comfort you.

I was a big fan of Mac's from here in Los Angeles. We had weekly conversations about the Cubs, the Dodgers and life in general. He will be sorely missed.
