Very sorry to hear of Denny's sudden passing. He was a great character and we had many a good game of cards when he came to Hospital on holiday. He never changed and was the same Denny as long as can remember him.
May he rest in peace.

To the boys and their families:
Yes, there is certainly a void now for all of you as only the loss of a parent or grandparent can cause. For those of us on the periphery, those who Denny touched in his own inimitable style, the void for us is of the loss of a presence, a force with the abiity to change and lighten the mood for those around him. About 40 years ago, our office had a gas leak. The supervisor and crewmen from North Shop were there and the owner of the building was angry and complaining. I phoned my Dad to come by to try and defuse things and calm the boss down. He was 10 years retired but knew the crew and my boss very well. Dad strolled in, spoke with the supervisor, and was about to explain the situation to the boss when another voice was heard. Denny was out of view but he had recognized Dad's voice and bellowed out, "Jayzus, we're all in trouble now, boys. They sent in the cavalry!" Everyone broke up laughing. That is what actually defused the tension and calmed the situation down. It is all too rare an inborn gift to be able to make those around you relax and feel good. Denny could do that without trying. I write on behalf of myself, my late father, and others who were the happy recipients of that gift.
Denny was the last link for me to North Shop - last man standing from that era. I will always smile when he comes to mind. That will never change.
My sincerest sympathies to you all. God give you all the strength to bear your loss and grant you solace and peace of mind before very long.

I did not know Mr. Creighton but I am sure he was a very nice man. My grandmother was also from Hospital.

We are sad for the loss to the Creighton clan. Denny will be sorely missed and often thought of.
