Dennis Battain Obituary
We celebrate the life of Dennis F. Battain who passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was the loving and devoted husband of Debbie, nee Messina. Much loved father of Amanda (Dave) Koperniak, Allison ( Pat ) Munley and Michael Battain. Proud grandfather of Amy and Avery. Dear brother of Ron (Gloria) Battain, Matt (Kathy) Laba, Karen (late Bill) Leahy, Judy(late Jim) Fogarty and dear brother-in-law of Cynthia Robertson. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dennis will be missed by his many, many friends. He was a proud member for 42 years of IBEW 134 and a loyal, die hard Bears fan! Visitation is Sunday, January 24, 2021 from 4PM until 8 PM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave.(55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation on Monday, January 25, 2021 will be at St. Symphorosa Church from 9 am until time of celebration of Mass at 10 AM. We will go in procession from the church to Resurrection Cemetery. My deepest condolences to the entire Battain family on your loss. My son John and Mike have been friends for many years, so much so that at times, I think John thought Dennis was probably more of a "dad" to him than I was. That just speaks to what an awesome man and father he was. I know how much Dennis meant to Mike, and no matter how tough it may be at time in dealing with his passing, he'll ALWAYS be alive in each and everyone of your hearts until you all meet again in God's kingdom. God bless all of you.
